ABOUT REAL ORDER PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZING
I’m Terri Stephens, the founder and Chief Professional Organizer of Real Order Professional Organizing, LLC. Since 2003, we’ve helped busy homeowners with their clutter and organizing needs in metro Atlanta and surrounding areas. I’m also a Senior Move Manager and help older adults and their families with later-life moves.
You may wonder what makes Real Order different than some other professional organizing businesses out there. A big difference is that I view what I do as more of a “calling” than just a job. It’s a privilege to be able to provide top-quality organizing services to my clients. My passion is helping others create their own version of an organized, functional and beautiful home. It’s a delight to help my clients simplify and improve the quality of their lives through organization. My hope and desire is that this work will bring honor to God.
Being organized is something that has always come pretty naturally to me. As a young child, I remember organizing my ceramic dog collection on a shelf so it looked just right. I took care of my toys and was devastated when my younger sister cut a favorite doll’s hair and gave it measles with a pen while I was at school. When I was 13 and finally got a room of my own, I was a happy camper!
I have an extensive business background, having worked for 21 years at an international engineering association. I was also a co-owner of a residential building business for about seven years. I handled everything from floor plans to project management to color selections! My biggest thrill was when homeowners moved into the houses we had built from the ground up and made it their own, a special place for their family to live their lives. Sometimes we were even invited over to dinner afterwards, which was always a treat.
I also have experience as a “home manager.” As a busy working mom, I truly understand what it’s like to juggle many balls in a stressful world. The experience I gained while organizing people and projects through the years has been invaluable. Having my own professional organizing business is just a natural progression of who I am and what I’m gifted to do.
I’m a Golden Circle Member of NAPO, the National Association of Professional Organizers, and the Georgia Chapter of NAPO, which is based in Atlanta, Georgia. I have served on the Board of Directors for NAPO-Georgia and numerous other committees. In 2008, I became a Certified Professional Organizer, which recognizes professionals who have met the standards and experience required for certification in the industry.
I am also a member of the National Association of Senior Move Managers (NASMM), which specializes in later life moves. In 2008, I received specialized training and passed the exam to become a Certified Relocation and Transition Specialist. Certified Transition Specialists are professionals who provide a spectrum of moving and age-in-place services for senior clients, their families and caregivers.
In 2011, I became a Certified Interior Environment Coach to help my clients create interior environments that inspire and empower them. This is a coaching program to help you reach your personal goals through supportive and purposeful home environments. Also in 2011, Real Order received the Consumers’ Choice Award in the Atlanta metropolitan area, as measured by consumer opinion.
My team and I fully respect your privacy. We abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of Professional Organizers as well as the National Association of Senior Move Managers. We are professionals and promise that you will not be judged or criticized by me or anyone on my team.
